Val d’Argent 2021

ticketTwo years, almost.
It was dawn of 26 ottobre 2019 when I got on the train to Austria to see an exhibition patchwork ad Althofen.
Twenty-three months have passed since then, dramatic months, very long, depressing, chaotic, unexpected and inconceivable, during which any contact with the patchwork, out of obligation or prudence, he remained confined within the home.
I remember that, in spring, the arrival of the vaccine gave me a breath of hope, soon dulled by the postponed newsletters sine die the exit from this evil tunnel that China gave us.
Needless to mention the Birmingham Festival of Quilts, especially as the health situation in the Midlands was worsening, and also the complications deriving from the Brexit they do their worst to dissuade me from frequenting the land of albions.
I confess that, although I love Alsace very much, the perfect setting for the Carrefour Européen du Patchwork, reluctantly I had already given up on it; there are too many risks of contagion associated with the long journey by train or bus. The plane, you already know, I don't like it, and drive the car for 1700 chilometri (between there and back) it would have been a major stress for mine sherpa/photographer / guide / interpreter /webmaster/handyman / etc.
E allora? Continua a leggere

Quilt Fest 2019 – Althofen

carinziastemmaI owe you an explanation, that is why only a short time I enter report sul Quilt Fest 2019 della Patchwork Gilde Austria. If you are curious to know you'll have to put up a small summary peppered with IT aspects.
we were forced to replace the end of the year personal computer with which this is handled blog. Not that the car had failed, but unfortunately it was updated the operating system, as for the one installed would no longer provide security updates, those that in the jargon they are called "Patch”. As always happens, the new operating system required more resources than the last, it's ours computer, enough already stressed, He could not stand to do.
Quindi, nell’ordine, execution of backup all data, purchase of the new computer, installation of new editing programs (because the old ones were, ovviamente, not compatible), and finally learning new software (I am always the idea that programmers do nothing but move all the controls on purpose).
At the end of that tormented path we finally publish post on the Carrefour Européen du Patchwork, e, After a well deserved break (It had been a fairly long process), One might have to go to the Austrian Quilt Fest. I stress “would”, because the "new" computer He thought it well to fail, and not just trinkets. Basically it had jumped the hard disk, irreversibly and unrecoverable.
apocalypse-02
Luckily my webmaster-sherpa-tourist guide-pusher It had been sighted, and the data were saved in a backup. In ogni caso, after repair, installation and configuration were necessary for all software, and I confess that for a while’ I've had enough of computer.
The feeling of having failed in my duties, however, requires me to give you a quick guide to what I happened to see in Carinthia. Sapete come si dice: better late than never. Continua a leggere

Persist is diabolical

After first Quiet Book It was had been left something to spare, of pieces of cloth, of ideuzze, and some more’ of enthusiasm.
Thanks to some tutorial found online (by Irina Sorokina and Sviatlana Balybina) I realized the game squares which I then assembled into a Quiet Book by Maja, and I suppose that his three years is the right age to have fun with this “Book calm”.

It's nothing that, of simple shapes to detach and reattach to pleasure (rather “patterned”), But I confess that I came to realize it myself a bit’ child.
So it seems that a Quiet Book I have not been enough. I have made a second, I persevered, devilishly, and maybe, but I do not promise anything, I'll make others, chissà. I'm not mica Paganini…

Quit… Quet… Quite… Quiet Book

Eccomi qua. For months I will not be alive on this blog, either for lack of time, Look for some ailment, and either for lack of arguments.
A little something I would have combined, but I wait for a good opportunity to expose it somewhere.
Però, Meanwhile, I want to show you a bagattelluzza I made for the birthday of a friend. Si tratta di un Quiet Book, a Browse Object that usually puts in the hands of a child / a in order to detach and reattach, disassemble and reassemble, around and around, learn to play with his imagination.
My friend is obviously a bit’ grown-up to have fun with Quiet Book, say it will be fine for her granddaughter, But he was going to give her this "joke", since she is engaged in the sale of some products that appear between the pages of the book.
I can say that the gift was very welcome, and that generated a lot of curiosity among the participants of the festival, which incidentally it was a surprise, given that very few imagined that we could achieve something with the fabric remnants.
By committing a venial sin of vanity I plugged in blog this short film, and although it is not a masterpiece I'm proud because, as always, the bill is that the drawings are solely my own work.
Allora, what do you think?
Try you too, It is funny!

Wiener Neustadt – Quilt Fest 2018

banner2This article is also a warning about how easy and hard to come around with us.
Easy, because there are no pre-compiled programs, imposed mandatory targets and route plans march.
Difficult, because you go a little’ adventure, adapting to what is due and always sympathetic to the unexpected or the unusual.
Easy, because there is nothing to do but get carried away, by a bus, a train, a current, emotion, illusion.
Difficult, because it does it with the slow pace dictated by logistical contingencies and our phlegmatic temperament.
Wanting to put us over charging eleven you let me remember how much our "travel" style may seem, a ragione, injudicious. Continua a leggere

Bassano 2017

Ovviamente no.
Abluzione, vestizione, prima colazione, I'm ready, andiamo.
Ovviamente piove. Continua a leggere

Treviso 2017

Annamaria Da Tos – Gocce d’acqua
